Barry Soetero chops at the ball from his back swing like he chops at foreign affairs. There is no control over the result.
The media has been losing credibility and integrity for decades but in the last decade it has used the excuse that print media is out and their integrity gap was caused by their inability to adapt to the electronic media. They are adapting to the electronic media but now have a low of 18% credibility rating. The difference is not in the medium but in their message – or rather their persistence in publishing messages without integrity. Half truths and intentional omissions to mislead the readers will always cause distrust and a lack of integrity. They are no different that the communist propaganda machines the free world used to criticize for lack of integrity.
Why is it that those that say the USA can’t be the world’s policeman say we can be the world’s baby sitter?
American Exceptionalism is not a thing. It is a result. It is the result of a people that declare themselves free with a limited government they control that enables an equal opportunity to pursue their interests. Our freedom results in exceptionalism. It is available to all peoples of the world if they have the fortitude and foresight to secure that for their people.
If it weren’t so sad it would be humorous. Today, July 21, 2014, Barry took to the microphones at the White House to criticize Putin for employing Obama tactics to hid the facts and avoid transparency for flight MH17. Any laws be damned. The Emperor of being abstruse and all time leader of blocking disclosure is calling for transparency from a communist leader. Putin is probably still laughing.
The Arizona Republic has projected its prejudice on SB1062 just as it did, and continues to do, with SB1070. The only entity, that I am aware of, that persistently used 1070 to demean Arizona and try to tarnish our reputation nationally is the Arizona Republic. Literally everyone I know from out of state that commented on 1070 told me they were glad to see at least one state stand up for our national security. If memory serves, in spite of the Republic’s continued bad press about our state, there were months following the passage of 1070 when tourism, as evidenced by the number of reported occupied hotel beds, increased. Our state executive branch brags about how well our state economy is doing relative to the rest of the country and concurrently the press keeps reporting how terribly damaged our economy has been. Additionally, I know snow birds that were looking to move to Texas, Florida or other states before 1070 was passed. After it was passed they decided to stay. Arizonans are being wrongly bludgeoned again by our own press for preserving our right to the free exercise of our religion. (Similarly, 1070 codified more protections for minority rights in Arizona than the federal statute it was based on; but I never read an article pointing out that fact.)
Two examples are given for the necessity of SB1062. They are the photographer in New Mexico and the bakery in Colorado. In both cases the government ruled against protecting their constitutionally guaranteed unalienable right to the free exercise of religion. Although Amendment I of the U.S. Constitution places a restriction on Congress passing laws, the principle protecting any freedom is moot if the courts can create laws to violate our constitutionally guaranteed civil rights.
In those two cases the defendants were not asked to simply bake a cake or take photographs. It is very probable that they have baked cakes for gays and lesbians and taken portraits of gays and lesbians. Their objections rise in protest to what is now law, under court orders. That is to compel them to actively participate in, and thereby support, ceremonies that violate their basic religious tenants of faith.
SB1062 gives specific guidance to the courts establishing the proof required to demonstrate that the requested actions “SUBSTANTIALLY BURDENS THE EXERCISE OF THE PERSONS RELIGIOUS BELIEFS.” In other words, based on the two exemplar cases, the “substantial burden” must be a service that requires the defendant to actively do something in support of conduct or a ceremony that violates a tenant of their religion. I think the courts can figure this out. With out this statute, the courts are left with no legislative guidance and we could end up with truly unintended consequences and chaos. Freedom of religion per se, is not guaranteed in the Arizona Constitution, only in the U.S. Constitution, so legislative guidance is all the more necessary for our judiciary.
Extreme examples, such as denying a single woman cab service, are offered as being upheld under this legislation. However, the Arizona Constitution, Article II Section 12 provides that the protection of such conduct is prohibited. It states, “The liberty of conscience [morality or religion] . . . shall not be so construed as to excuse acts of licentiousness, or justify practices inconsistent with the peace and safety of the state.” Put another way, our State Constitution already prohibits the conduct those opposed to SB1062 point to as absurd applications of the statute. It may be difficult with recent decisions, but give our judges a little credit will you!

Obama wants to “accommodate” the Catholic Church. The Catholic Church wants to know how he can “accommodate” murder.
The first President to use robo-signing to sign legislation into law calls the press for a $25b photo-op to criticize and announce he is punishing banks for . . . . . robo-signing legal documents.
Someone should tell Eric Holder and his boss that liars are like pornography. To paraphrase the Supreme Court, you know them when you hear them.
Honor and dignity- if you can create a culture, a dependent society, that deprives people of those individual values, then they are easy to control.
No central planning system has ever out performed a free market where individuals have the freedom and opportunity to excel and all boats rise because the economy grows; instead of socialist or communist planned systems where all boats slowly sink.
The best system ever devised to protect minorities, each individual and his personal freedom is the Constitution. It is slowly being destroyed by minorities that would rather take from others than secure the right to pursue happiness with a free equal opportunity for all.
A nationalized government can’t dumb us down if we keep local independent thinking and control of our educational systems. A central government must nationalize the system to control it and our children.

The community organizer spoke again on September 8th. We did not hear from a Scout leader, much less a President. He spoke in the evangelical terms of Jeremiah Wright about what people would like to see happen and who’s at fault by telling us who else needs to act to get something done; with out describing us how he wants them to do it. For the umpteenth time he did not tell us his plan! It was like being on Santa’s knee (God bless Santa, at least he is more reliable) when he’s telling us we were magically going to get everything on our national wish list. Just like a good community organizer, Obama’s wish list offers everything except to restore our individual liberties and freedoms from being taken by his oppressive government that is strangling our businesses and our people.
Instead of telling us his plan and how he proposes to make cuts in spending, he passed the buck. He passed his obligations, responsibilities and accountability to the unconstitutional “Super Committee.” Can you say “Pass the Buck Obama?”
If he really wanted a tax code “where every one gets a fair shake” and “pays their fair share” (not just 50% of us?) he would propose a fair tax or a flat tax with out any tax exemptions. That would make Warren Buffet pay his fair share. But that is not what he really wants. Such a fair system will not support a socialist form of government. Nor would restoring our constitutional rights, liberties and civil rights that his administration is taking on a daily basis by his oppressive regulations and executive orders support a socialist government.
Socialist and communist forms of government depend on bureaucratic patronage jobs that are not self-sustaining. The one and most important thing his undefined “jobs bill” will not do is create any self-sustaining jobs. Self-sustaining jobs are the only kind of jobs that grow and sustain an economy. Government jobs are a burden, and only suck the blood of commerce out of an economy. Short term private jobs that are created by excessive temporary spending, for projects that create no self-sustaining jobs, only leave the country in more debt and with a devalued currency.
Obama pushed creating more undefined tax loopholes, presumably as business incentives. I guess those are some how different than the tax loopholes that he wants to repeal. You remember, those that were passed as business and job incentives. Obama said he’s going to take his message to “every corner of the country.” I guess that means he will finally visit all 57 states.

I’m going out on a limb here but I predict that Obama’s September 8th “Jobs Speech” will be another effort to sell us a product with out telling us his ingredients. Obama will cast his proposal with a sprinkling of Republican economic terms designed to make him sound very reasonable and middle of the road for the purpose of telling us his Elixir will work, and we should buy it. But just like the chocolate covered cherries that were sold in the 19th century, as weight loss candies (that contained a tape worm), they do not work. The tape worm that this 21st century Elixir Salesman is selling in his chocolate covered jobs cherry, is the worm of federal government’s enormous growth, compulsory government health control, spending and taxing us into economic and national security demise.
Just like the 19th century Elixir salesman, Obama will tell us about the great chocolate, the cream filling and the fresh cherry inside. Obama will tell us about his chocolate coating of public economic security (by stealing Republican language about what must be done), his faux sugar drenched filling of regulatory and tax reform, topped by his “cherry” of all the new jobs his partially disclosed “plan” will create (“or save”). He will say he has a plan that both parties can agree to and “put country before party”, but that is the antitheses of what he really does. The one thing I am confident Obama will not say is that he will use the remaining $150b in his stimulus political slush fund for the infrastructure projects he will say needs to be funded now. Obama does not need Congress to get “on-board” – Obama needs to set sail! Is it Congresses’ fault that Obama will not spend his political stimulus slush fund?
He’s had almost 3 years. If he was a real leader, one would think by now he would have a complete plan and could disclose all the ingredients. In other words; what are the details behind his “specifics”? But then, when his modus operandi is leading from behind, he has to conduct more polling to find out what his next faux ingredient should be, before he leads from behind again. If we renew his Elixir prescription, Obama’s tape worm will surely continue to exponentially grow and consume us from within. Then . . . without radical surgery, there’s not much hope for a cure. Unfortunately Obama’s not leading from behind when it comes to his “change” to make our free country, into a socialistic government controlled state. I can see November 2012 from here, can you?
